Biography

AYANDA JIYA is an amazing singer and songwriter born in a small town called Klerksdorp, which is in the North West Province, South Africa. Currently based in Johannesburg, Ayanda is influenced by alot of genres she grew up listening to. These mainly includes RnB, Gospel, Jazz and Neo Soul. With a family who supported her talent, she was nurtured in the comfort of her home to become a musician and an exceptional songwriter. Due to her exceptional song writing skills and unique vocal abilities, Ayanda was nominated for “Best RnB Single” at the Metro FM Awards in 2015 for her hit song “Go Go Girl”.

Now Ayanda is indepedent and is recognised internationally. The year 2016 she was granted to perform in Sri Lanka, performing in their capital city Colombo at their annual Jazz Festival. She has worked with a number of artists including the likes of, Zano, Ginger Trill, Lady Zamar, Stogie T, SirLSG, A-Reece, Ralf Gum, Ziyon and many more.

Ayanda released her second EP “To Whom It May Concern” on the 8th of June 2017, which hit number 1 on first week of release on both iTunes and GooglePlay. Her first single “Im Doing Fine” and second single “Outta Control” was on rotation on all national radio stations such as Metro Fm,Kaya Fm, Ukhozi Fm, Gagasi Fm, Motsweding Fm and Radio 2000.

In 2019, Ayanda released her highly anticipated album A Y A N D A S T A N D. She teamed up with A-reece for her new single “Falling For You” that dropped on the 14th of February, 2019. Her effortless vocal performance confirms that she is an outstanding talent deserving of further recognition. In 2020 she was selected as part of SA delegation to attend SXSW in Austin, Texas, USA. Unfotunately the event was cancelled due to the Corona virus pandemic outbreak. She was also set to open for the Multi Grammy nominated and BET and ASACP Awards winner, Musiq Soulchild on his South African tour - this was also cancelled due to the Corona virus pandemic. More is still expected of this amazing young talent, dubbed South Africa's rising queen of RnB/Soul.
